Data System Inventory - Resources to Make It Happen

Data is everywhere at an organization and in many data systems. And growing all the time. Data at an organization needs to be understood, individually and collectively, and can’t be done without a data system inventory. There are many benefits of having an effective inventory of data systems and tools. Part of the knowledgebase for data governance (also called data intelligence), creating a data system inventory is usually a good first task in the knowledgebase creation. And remember it is necessary to inventory the “shadow systems”. These databases or spreadsheets often exist without the knowledge of data trustees or stewards. It is important to have the necessary information about each data system. But building a inventory of data systems is not easy. Organizations need to take defined steps to build their data system inventory and have it be part of a process to create and maintain. There are many pieces to the data system inventory that adds complexity.  A data system inventory adds tons of content value.StockSnap_KRNNVQJ6NK_data systems inventory_bp
